Pre-execution before each tool call

  • Deny Reddit.GetContentOfPost results to agents operating in data-minimization mode, so full post bodies never reach the model.
  • Strip commenter usernames, email addresses, and phone numbers from Reddit.GetTopLevelComments results before the model sees the discussion.
  • Redact the body Reddit.GetPost returns, removing email addresses, phone numbers, and invitation links before the model sees the post.
  • Deny Reddit.ListMyPosts to agents without your account-audit role, so an agent cannot inspect a user's posting history beyond the work it is authorized to perform.
  • Strip comment bodies containing contact details or access links from Reddit.ListPostComments results before the discussion reaches the model.

A Reddit MCP server exposes Reddit actions as structured tools that an AI agent can call through the Model Context Protocol. After a user authorizes their Reddit account, the agent can read subreddit content, inspect comments, and submit posts or replies within the granted permissions.

Arcade provides the MCP access layer and runtime for Reddit, including per-user OAuth, approval policies, response redaction, and controls for which actions an agent can use. This gives agents a consistent way to reach Reddit from supported clients without each application implementing the authorization flow itself.

Arcade agents can check subreddit access and rules, list subreddit posts, read post bodies and top-level comments, inspect a user's own posts, submit text posts, comment on posts, and reply to comments. They cannot use this integration to edit or delete content, moderate a subreddit, or read comment replies beyond the available top-level comment results.

Read-only Reddit workflows require the Reddit read permission, identifying the connected account requires identity access, and submitting posts or comments requires the submit permission. Arcade requests the scopes needed for the actions you enable, so grant only the permissions your workflow uses.

Yes. Each user authorizes their own Reddit account through OAuth. Reddit actions run under that user's authorization, so an agent can access only the account and permissions that person approved.

Yes. Contextual Access policies can require human approval before consequential Reddit actions such as submitting a post, commenting, or replying to a comment. The call proceeds only after the policy's conditions are satisfied.

Arcade proxies Reddit API calls and does not persist your Reddit content as part of normal tool execution. Reddit credentials are brokered and stored encrypted at rest, and the model never receives them.

Arcade refreshes access while the user's Reddit authorization remains valid. If it is revoked, rotated, or can no longer be refreshed, Reddit actions stop until the user reconnects their account.

Reddit's API rate limits and account or subreddit restrictions still apply to calls made through Arcade. The available integration details do not define a separate Arcade quota or a per-call result limit, so your workflow should handle Reddit rate-limit responses and pagination where applicable.
