A Microsoft PowerPoint MCP server exposes PowerPoint and OneDrive presentation capabilities as structured tools that an AI agent can call through the Model Context Protocol. After a user authorizes their Microsoft account, the agent can create presentations, add slides, read presentation content, and manage speaker notes within the permissions granted.

Microsoft PowerPoint does not provide a first-party MCP server here. Arcade provides the runtime around these presentation actions, including per-user OAuth, approval workflows, redaction, scope controls, and access from MCP-compatible clients.

Arcade agents can create presentations in OneDrive, append standard or two-content slides, read a presentation as markdown, read speaker notes from one or all slides, and add or update speaker notes. They cannot use this toolkit to edit arbitrary existing slide content, delete slides, apply detailed formatting, or deliver a presentation.

Arcade requests the Microsoft OAuth permissions needed for the presentation and OneDrive actions your workflow enables, including creating or reading PowerPoint files and managing their speaker notes. Grant the narrowest Microsoft permissions that support the workflow.

Yes. Each user authorizes their own Microsoft account through OAuth. Presentation actions run under that user's authorization, so the agent can access only the account and permissions the user approved.

Yes. Contextual Access policies can require human approval before consequential PowerPoint actions such as creating a presentation, adding slides, or changing speaker notes. The call proceeds only after the policy's conditions have been satisfied.

Arcade proxies Microsoft PowerPoint and OneDrive API calls and does not persist your presentation content as part of normal tool execution. OAuth credentials are brokered and stored encrypted at rest, and the model never receives raw credentials.

Arcade refreshes access while the user's Microsoft authorization remains valid. If access is revoked, rotated, or can no longer be refreshed, presentation actions stop until the user reconnects their Microsoft account.

Microsoft Graph and OneDrive throttling, file-size limits, and account-level quotas apply to actions performed through Arcade. There are no separate presentation limits described here, so agents should handle throttling and retry responses rather than assume unlimited calls.
