Why agent-optimized tools matter
Built for intent, not API schemas
Ask the agent to "find the deal, read its latest call transcript, and create follow-up tasks." Arcade helps it use the right Attio tools without guessing record IDs, list IDs, or workspace context.
Up to 100x fewer tokens
Attio searches and list reads let the agent narrow records, entries, meetings, and tasks before it fetches a full call transcript. It gets focused CRM context without loading every record or transcript into the model.
Complete the workflow end to end
Find the right record, inspect its meetings, read the relevant transcript, add a note, and create follow-up tasks through one toolkit designed around the complete CRM task.
Make actions predictable and controlled
Arcade tools return structured results and useful errors across users and runs. Teams can apply scope restrictions, redaction, and approval policies so agents follow the same controls every time.
Securing Attio
The more capabilities agents get, the more useful they are. However, more capabilities bring more risks of undesired effects such as data loss and exfiltration.
This is why Arcade provides you with contextual rules that dictate how and when a tool is allowed to run. Arcade’s contextual access lets you govern tool visibility and behavior at every stage of execution and control who can see a tool, what inputs are allowed, and what comes back.
Learn about Contextual Access PoliciesFor Attio, you can implement some of these policies:
- Hide Attio.RemoveFromList from agents unless the roles your IDP marks as CRM administrators are active, so an agent cannot remove records from a shared list.
- Restrict Attio.UpdateRecord to agents operating under your account-management role, so unapproved automation cannot overwrite customer ownership, deal stages, or contact details.
- Deny Attio.CreateRecord to read-only agents, so they cannot create duplicate people, companies, or deals in your workspace.
- Require human approval before Attio.AssertRecord runs on existing records, so an agent cannot silently overwrite a customer's owner, lifecycle stage, or qualification data.
- Block Attio.CreateNote when the note contains credentials, access tokens, or payment details, so an agent cannot publish secrets into a customer record.
- Require human approval before Attio.CreateTask creates tasks assigned to another workspace member, so an agent cannot place unreviewed work on a colleague's queue.
- Redact Attio.GetCallTranscript results to remove phone numbers, email addresses, and payment details before the transcript reaches the model.
- Deny Attio.GetDealTranscript outright for deals marked confidential or under legal hold, so the model cannot receive restricted call content.
- Strip personal phone numbers, home addresses, and private notes from Attio.GetRecord results before the model sees the record.
How to use Attio with your agent
Pick your MCP client below and follow the setup walkthrough to connect an agent to Attio with per-user OAuth. Each user authorizes their own Attio account.
Your questions, answered
An Attio MCP server exposes Attio CRM capabilities as structured tools that an AI agent can call through the Model Context Protocol. After a user authorizes their account, the agent can query records, manage lists, create tasks and notes, and read meeting data and call transcripts.
Arcade provides an Attio MCP integration with per-user OAuth and an actions runtime for approval, redaction, and tool access controls. It also provides agent-optimized tools for common CRM jobs, rather than making the agent assemble raw API requests.
Arcade agents can query, create, assert, and update Attio records; add or remove records from lists; create notes and tasks; list workspace members, objects, lists, meetings, and tasks; and retrieve meeting and deal call transcripts. They can also inspect object schemas and the authenticated workspace context.
Arcade requests the Attio permissions required by the actions your workflow enables. Read-only workflows need read access, while creating or updating records, lists, notes, or tasks requires the corresponding write permissions; grant the narrowest access that supports the workflow.
Yes. Each user authorizes their own Attio account through OAuth. Actions run under that user's authorization and can access only the workspace and permissions that user approved.
Yes. Contextual Access policies can require human approval before consequential Attio actions such as creating or updating records, adding notes or tasks, changing list membership, or removing a record from a list. The call proceeds only once the policy is satisfied.
Arcade proxies Attio API calls and does not persist your content as part of normal tool execution. Where Attio credentials are required, Arcade brokers them and stores them encrypted at rest, and the model never receives them.
Any framework or client that can connect to Arcade's MCP gateway or tool APIs works with Arcade Attio, including LangChain, OpenAI Agents, CrewAI, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Copilot Studio, and GitHub Copilot.
Arcade refreshes Attio access while the user's authorization remains valid. If it is revoked, rotated, or can no longer be refreshed, calls stop until the user reconnects their Attio account.
Calls through Arcade remain subject to Attio's API rate limits and quotas. Use the available pagination controls when reading lists, records, tasks, or workspace data, and handle Attio limit responses in the agent workflow.
